Fun at the new Maggie Daley Park

Skye and I love going to our local park to have tons of fun. We've been axious about visiting the new Maggie Daley Park for a while now so, last week we decided to go visit and capture our fun with all the things Maggie Daley Park has to offer.

The parks development was inspired and created from The Chicago Park District Board of Commissioners who renamed the site in honor of Maggie C. Daley (1943 – 2011) Chicago’s longtime first lady, who was deeply committed to improving the lives of children and making the city culturally rich for all of its citizens. Maggie Daley Park Located in the northeast corner of Grant Park and connected to Millenium Park has so many things for children of all ages to enjoy. Designed by New York landscape/architect Michael Van Valkenburgh, Maggie Daley Park features a series of low hills that provide views of the park, giant skyscrapers to the north and west of the city of Chicago, and the beautiful Lake Shore Drive and Lake Michigan to the east.

Maggie Daley Park offers a Climbing Wall which is Chicago's first and only rock climbing park for visitors to enjoy.

The park also has a Play Garden for children under 12 years of age, which features different sections for the kids to enjoy:

-The Sea Ages 5-12

-The Watering Hole Ages 2-5

-The Harbor Ages 2-5

-The Enchanted Forest

-The Wave Lawn All ages

-The Slide Crater Ages 5-12

Along with the Play Garden, Maggie Daley offers a Fieldhouse, Tennis Court, Pic Nic Groves for families to sit and eat, and the Cancer Survivors Garden.

The beautifully landscaped and very unique space opens the door for our children to relax, enjoy, extroversion, introversion and experimentation for children of different ages, abilities and backgrounds. Maggie Daley Park has now set the bar to help enhance our childrens imaginative wonders. I highly recommend this park for everyone to enjoy! Skye and I had a blast!
